Chris King: A Shocking Heel Turn For WWE WrestleMania 42

WWE WrestleMania Roman Reigns CM Punk War Games

Chris King brings you his plan for a shocking end to WWE WrestleMania 42, involving a huge heel turn and realignment.

In the (assumed) main event of WrestleMania 42 Night Two, Roman Reigns will challenge CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship. Both superstars have been at each other’s throats for weeks, playing mind games to gain advantages. Roman has proclaimed that Punk having the world title is an embarrassment and that he’s old. Punk has called out Roman for always needing help from his family to get the job done and even went as far as saying he’s going to bury Roman next to his father! With the OG Bloodline possibly reuniting at the end of WrestleMania to help Roman win the title, it’s got me thinking about another prediction. Dare I say a spoiler? What if CM Punk turns heel and aligns with Paul Heyman and The Vision?

In 2013, Punk, then WWE Champion, aligned with Paul Heyman, his longtime best friend in professional wrestling, turning heel on The Rock and John Cena. Punk would weasel his way into retaining his precious title by hook or crook for an astounding 434 days. One of the hooks would be his opponent Roman, who was the powerhouse of The Shield alongside Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. ‘The Voice of the Voiceless’ would ultimately leave the company a year later and would make his long-awaited return to WWE at the 2023 Survivor Series PLE.

During Punk’s absence from WWE in 2020, ‘The Tribal Chief’ was born, and who would he align with? Paul Heyman, aka ‘The Wiseman.’ Roman, along with his cousins The Usos would form an unstoppable group known as The Bloodline. They would wreck everyone and leave, just as Roman’s slogan on his shirt would say. Both rivals would come face-to-face in November of 2024 when Punk would be enlisted for their help against Solo Sikoa and his rabid MFTs. Roman was reluctant of Punk’s help in WarGames, but Heyman assured his Tribal Chief that this was the right call. Both superstars were on the same page for one night, and they even shook hands at the end.

Punk, being the mastermind, had a favor in mind, which would have had Heyman in his corner against Roman and Rollins at WrestleMania 41. While Heyman did walk him down to the ring, he would turn on both Punk and Roman to join forces with Rollins. The self-proclaimed oracle would then form another faction named The Vision, a moniker used by Rollins. ‘The Visionary’ recruits Bron Breaker and Bronson Reed as his mercenaries to do his dirty work. For months Roman and Punk would be destroyed by The Vision all the way up to 2024 Survivor Series PLE, where they would once again team up inside WarGames. The victory went to The Vision as a masked man would hit a curb stomp on Punk and Breaker would hit a spear.

It seemed like both Punk and Roman were on the same page once again, until Roman won the 2026 Royal Rumble match. The Tribal Chief immediately made his intentions clear: that he was choosing Punk because he hates him and it was not just about the title. For the past few weeks, Punk has trash-talked his opponent and even claimed to “bury him next to his dad.” This has angered The Usos and Jey Uso has crashed out hard over the champ. With Roman now having the help of The Usos, everyone is expecting The Bloodline to help Roman win this time, but what if Punk aligns himself with The Vision?

Punk has been playing this good-guy babyface for the past three years since making his return to the company, but during his buildup with Roman, he’s been walking a thin line between a babyface and heel. He’s become more of a tweener character, where he’s blurring the boundaries of his character. Punk turning heel would open the door for his feud with Rollins to continue as well, along with being back together with Heyman. There’s also a huge possibility of Punk teaming up with Bron Breaker, and even Logan Paul or Austin Theory and facing The OG Bloodline in a six-man tag match.

I think the real CM Punk needs to come out. I believe that Monday Night Raw would be a must-see again if he became the new leader of The Vision.

Chris King: Is Brock Lesnar Truly Retired?

Brock Lesnar WWE WrestleMania 42 Retirement

Brock Lesnar retired at WWE WrestleMania 42, right? Are we totally sure? Chris King asks…

At WrestleMania 42, ‘The Beast Incarnate’ Brock Lesnar took off his boots and gloves following his loss to Oba Femi. Lesnar has done it all inside of his twenty-four-year career in professional wrestling. He’s a ten-time WWE Champion and former UFC Heavyweight Champion, and he’s one who ended The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania.

While Lesnar was in the ring, he was visibly overwhelmed with emotion and crying while he thanked the fans in his own way. The Beast even threw up an x to signal to Paul Heyman, his longtime friend and advocate, that this was not scripted and was real. There had been rumors that Lesnar and Oba were supposed to have a series of matches before everything went down at Mania.

‘The Career Killer’ Gunther was doing Heyman’s bidding as he faced Seth Rollins for a favor. For a while now since Gunther retired Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles, the rumor has been Gunther was set to retire Lesnar in his hometown at this year’s SummerSlam event. There’s been no confirmation if Lesnar is truly retired, but on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, we saw Heyman talking with General Manager Nick Aldis. Later that night following Rhodes’ match against the debuting Ricky Saints, Gunther choked out the WWE Champion. Could this be the favor from Heyman?

I know in the world of professional wrestling we live by the mantra of “never say never,” but what if Lesnar is actually retired and this was WWE’s way of shutting down those rumors about Gunther and Lesnar? What if Gunther’s next program is chasing after the WWE title, and where is Randy Orton at in all of these plans? There are so many questions that need to be answered, hopefully soon!

Chris King: Defend The Intercontinental Championship At Backlash!

With WWE Backlash upon us, Chris King wants to see Penta defend the Intercontinental Championship in Tampa!

Penta WWE Intercontinental Championship WrestleMania 42

With WWE Backlash upon us, Chris King wants to see Penta defend the Intercontinental Championship in Tampa!

This year’s annual Backlash showcase is only a few days away, and while there are many big matches announced, one that definitely should be isn’t on the card. In my opinion, outside of Roman Reigns/Jacob Fatu and Seth Rollins/Bron Breakker, the Intercontinental Championship scene has been stellar over the last month.

Penta has been an excellent champion, especially after his triumphant title defense in a ladder match against JeVon Evans, Rusev, Dragon Lee, and the Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 42. Their ladder match at Mania was one of the best that WWE has produced in a while.

The momentum never stopped, as on the post-Mania episode of Monday Night Raw, ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page made his debut and was quickly inserted into the Intercontinental title scene. Page had a fantastic showing against his longtime NXT rival Evans and picked up a big win in his debut match thanks to an assist from Rusev.

All Ego immediately joined forces with ‘The Bulgarian Brute’ Rusev, who was also vying for the Intercontinental Title in his own right. On this week’s episode of Raw, Page and Rusev defeated Evans and Penta. All Ego pinned the champion, making a huge statement and putting him one step closer to getting a title shot. For the past few weeks I’ve been anxiously waiting to see if WWE was going to add this incredible fatal four-way match for the Intercontinental Championship, but it hasn’t happened yet.

As much as the WWE Universe enjoys witnessing great matches on free television, I truly believe all four superstars deserve the chance to showcase their talents on the PLE. While Penta has done a terrific job as the intercontinental champion, it’s time for a fresh face to hold the prestigious title. Page would make a great braggadocious heel that would help elevate the Intercontinental Championship to new heights!
