More Details on Friday’s WWE Releases Surface
Fightful reports talent began learning of Friday evening departures around 5 p.m. ET after internal emails notified several WWE departments. Sources say Triple H, Nick Khan and WWE talent relations were the primary decision-makers, and that most cuts were made to make room for new talent amid reports SmackDown may return to a two-hour format; Kairi Sane’s exit was described as creating “a ton of shock” and “heavy frustration” due to an unresolved storyline with IYO SKY and Asuka.
Reported names affected include Kairi Sane, the Wyatt Sicks, Aleister Black & Zelina, and the Motor City Machine Guns on the main roster, while NXT releases reportedly include Tyra Mae Steele, Luca Crusifino and Dante Chen, with Carlee Bright confirming her departure on Sunday. Fightful also noted new Performance Center signings are expected to be announced soon.
