As most fans have their sights set on next month’s WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view on June 17th, we also have the next installment of the United Kingdom Championship Tournament coming up. If you missed it, WWE has already announced that the first round of the 16-Man tourney to determine Pete Dunne’s next challenger will kickoff at Download Festival (for that story, go here). The action will then move onto Royal Albert Hall in London on June 18th and 19th.

Today, Cathy Kelley revealed the first eight participants for the tournament:

• Zack Gibson
• Joe Coffey
• Gentleman Jack Gallagher
• Dave Mastiff
• Kenny Williams
• El Ligero
• Joseph Conners
• Amir Jordan

EA’s Take: Go ahead and roast me people, but I’m sorry. I’m familiar with barely anyone on this list, so thankfully Cathy Kelley gave a little bit of info on each guy (I’m always thankful for Cathy Kelley regardless). I find it very unusual that there are so many new names involved because I’m under the impression WWE may want to back someone they have under contract in this tournament. I also think it will be interesting to see how this is approached in-terms of when it airs. Will it be live? I’ve seen some places state that it will be, however we still have yet to hear anything from WWE on that. With the time difference, they certainly could do it and be finished before RAW and SmackDown Live since June 18th and 19th are a Monday and Tuesday.
