NEW YORK – On July 19th in New York City hall of fame luchador Konnan will step foot in the ring as a wrestler for the first time in five years as he enters the first-ever Battle Riot at the Melrose Ballroom in Queens, NY. 

The Battle Riot® is the main event of the MLW July 19th card and FUSION TV taping in New York City at the Melrose Ballroom in Queens, NY.

Konnan joins “PCO” Pierre Carl Ouellet, Swoggle and Lance Anoa’i as participants announced thus far this week. More will be announced on Friday night’s nationally televised MLW series, MLW: FUSION on beIN Sports at 8pm ET.

The surprise announcement of Konnan’s July 19th return was made on Thursday night’s MLW RADIO: THE FLAGSHIP, where Konnan along with Court Bauer joined Mister Saint Laurent announced they would return as a three-man podcasting team on the show each week moving forward. More matches and Battle Riot participants will be announced in the coming weeks on MLW: FUSION and MLW.com.

A mash-up of a battle royal, royal rumble and anything goes street fight, the Battle Riot is a super-sized main event which will feature 40 wrestlers with new participants entering the ring every 60 seconds.

There will be surprises! There will be legends! There will be WTF entries! And there will be no disqualifications!

Elimination is by pinfall, submission or by throwing an individual over the top rope.

Anything is possible July 19th in a Battle Riot! 

What does the winner get? 

The winner gets a World Heavyweight Title Shot anywhere, anytime!  It could be that night; it could be in 6 months. The challenger has the key to unlock an instant title shot against whoever the champion is!
