In addition to the announcement that Rey Fenix and Pentagon Jr. will be defending the MLW Tag Team Titles at Battle Riot on July 19th against Drago and Aerostar (check that out here), there’s another, lesser known announcement today regarding Major League Wrestling.

Former WWE and IMPACT Wrestling star MVP revealed yesterday via his Instagram account that he will not longer be working with MLW. While he would state he still doesn’t “completely understand” the reason behind the end of their relationship, but there are still some previously taped episodes he will still be appearing on. He would also go on to praise the cast and that his VIP Podcast may pop up somewhere else some day:

Many fans will of course remember MVP (Montel Vontavious Porter) from his WWE run that lasted from 2005 (where he started in developmental) until his release in 2011, where he won the United States Championship twice and had memorable feuds against the likes of Kane (including an Inferno Match) and Matt Hardy (with whom he also won the Tag Team Championship). Since 2011, MVP has also worked for TNA/IMPACT Wrestling, Lucha Underground and New Japan Pro Wrestling where was a one-time IWGP Intercontinental Champion.

His last appearance for WWE came back on January 22nd for the 25th Anniversary of RAW where he participated in a backstage poker game segment with the APA, Heath Slater, Rhyno, ‘Million Dollar Man’ Ted DiBiase, Jeff Hardy, The Usos, The New Day and others.
