On the eve of New Japan Pro Wrestling’s G1 Special in San Francisco at the Cow Palace, a press conference was held today that featured NJPW’s new President Harold Meij.

Meij has been quite outspoken about his plans for the promotion and wanting to continue branching outside of Japan to grow. NJPW has already held multiple events in the United States this year with Strong Style Evolved and the more recent presence of the company for a show at the CEO Gaming Championships. We saw even further evidence of the company spreading out today as Meij announced that New Japan Pro Wrestling will return to the United States for an event entitled ‘The Fighting Spirit Unleashed’, which will take place September 30th from Long Beach, California.

Additionally, Harold Meij also revealed that two more shows will take place in America on November 10th and 11th from the Anaheim Convention Center. These events called ‘The Lions Break’ will feature New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Young Lions, the up-and-comers within the company.
