We’re just over a week from WWE’s Extreme Rules on July 15th from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and rumors about what could go down at the event have been swirling. One of the more prominent rumors going around is that The Miz could get involved in the SmackDown Tag Team Title match which will see Team Hell No challenge The Bludgeon Brothers. Of course, ‘The A-Lister’ and Daniel Bryan have quite the history and a match between the two has been long-anticipated by the WWE Universe.

Today, WWE announced that The Miz will be participating in the MLB All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game next Sunday, the same day as Extreme Rules:

Some have taken this news to mean that The Miz will be missing Extreme Rules, however the MLB Celebrity Softball Game begins at 3PM EST and takes place in Washington D.C. With Extreme Rules emanating from Pittsburgh and the start of the show not coming until 7PM EST, it’s still entirely possible that Miz could make an appearance. A flight from Washington D.C. into Pittsburgh is only an estimated one hour travel time, therefore should ‘The A-Lister’ be involved in any WWE plans that night, the company could possibly still arrange for him to be there.

EA’s Take: Never rule anything out without actually looking into it. I can’t lend any credence to the rumors of Miz interfering in Team Hell No’s match considering the source of it, but I think anyone that’s familiar with the product could throw that out there and make it sound feasible because it’s completely logical. We know that Miz vs. Bryan is an inevitability, it just depends on how long WWE wants that to simmer. It seems to have ramped up a little more recently, so the clear and obvious conclusion one could surmise right now would be for the match to happen at SummerSlam.
