‘The Heartbreak Kid’ Shawn Michaels was victorious in his return match alongside Triple H over The Brothers Of Destruction this past Friday at WWE Crown Jewel, but the match has certainly received mixed reviews from fans to say the least.

Of course, we know that Triple H apparently suffered a torn pec and will be undergoing surgery, putting him on the shelf for at least 5-6 months (check that out here). On top of that, their was obvious rust and even Michaels narrowly escaped injury after a moonsault from the top rope to the outside ended with ‘HBK’ landing on his face.

If you remember, it was previously reported by the WrestleVotes Twitter account (which has been a great source for stories) that Crown Jewel was likely not the last time we would see Michaels in the ring should everything go well and a singles match against The Undertaker was being discussed for as early as Survivor Series (find that here).

We just noted how Survivor Series plans have now completely changed due to Roman Reigns’ leukemia diagnosis (read that story here) and while it hasn’t been indicated that there’s a direct link, another Shawn Michaels match appears to no longer be in the cards. WrestleVotes has updated the talk about another match from ‘The Heartbreak Kid’, reporting that because of the injury to Triple H and how the Crown Jewel match went down, Michaels vs. The Undertaker is in jeopardy. After Crown Jewel, WWE cameras caught up with Shawn and he remarked that he was ready to return to “regular life”, another possible indication that he is finished.

EA’s Take: I had no interest in Michaels coming back to begin with, so let’s just permanently table another HBK vs. Taker match, we don’t need it and quite frankly, don’t want it. The one thing I do find a little odd is what Triple H’s injury has to do with the match. If he was supposed to be heavily involved in that on-screen, I’m certain WWE can come up with another way to get to it. But, like I said, I don’t want to get to it.
