MLW News: DJZ’s MLW Debut Opponent At Never Say Never Revealed
DJZ’s opponent for his MLW debut at Never Say Never has been revealed!
Today, it was noted that Major League Wrestling’s Zero Hour live special on beIN Sports next Friday night at 8PM EST has a new match added, as Ace Romero and Barrington Hughes will collide in Miami (see that story here).
The preceding night to Zero Hour on December 13th, MLW will present Never Say Never in Miami, its next set of Fusion television tapings. With a number of matches and talent already announced for that card, today MLW has now revealed the opponent for DJZ’s MLW debut as he will go one-on-one with El Hijo de LA Park:
MIAMI – The bright lights of Miami will be no match for the high charged DJZ as he makes his MLW debut next Thursday in an electric high flying encounter against a dangerous luchador with an appetite for destruction. DJZ vs. Hijo de LA Park (presented by Salina de la Renta) has been signed for next Thursday night’s December 13th MLW: Never Say Never card at the Miami Scottish Rite Temple.
DJZ, recently showcasing his lucha techniques in AAA, will make his MLW debut next Thursday as he takes on the next generation of one of wrestling’s most feared in Hijo de LA Park. Park, a member of the Promociones Dorado banner, has been making strides as a middleweight where he has shown versatility as a brawler building off of his high flying lucha base.
Relative newcomer Hijo de LA Park is a mystery to many competitors, which will make this match a challenge for DJZ who will be tasked with not only stopping Park’s momentum but being on the lookout for Promociones Dorado impresaria Salina de la Renta.
Promociones Dorado is a dream team both in the ring and behind the scenes. This collective is operated out of Puerto Rico and Mexico by founder Salina de la Renta. The Latin American promoter’s banner acts as a pipeline to the stars of Latin America for sports leagues, TV and film in the US and abroad. “The league wants THE best of the best, which is why it is working with a promoter like me” said Salina de la Renta.
The ruthless Latina has a reputation for involving herself in matches. Could she be the x-factor in this bout? Find out LIVE next Thursday December 13th in Miami (buy tickets)
Both December 13 & 14th cards are FUSION TV tapings for beIN SPORTS. Tickets are available starting at $15 at MLWTickets.com.

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
