WWE News: RAW’s Audience Sees Another Drop, Moves Back Up In Top 5 (12/3/18)
A look at last night’s ratings for WWE RAW!
Following last week’s widely criticized (and justifiably so) episode of WWE’s Monday Night RAW saw a drop in ratings and the weekly Cable Top 150 Rankings (see that here), last night’s edition at least gave a bit better of a show for the viewing public. Does that translate in the ratings?
Numbers for last night’s edition of the red brand are now available and there’s a big drop again, going down to a 2.286. This is a decrease from last week of 3.5%, meaning the show has lost over 8% of its viewership from two weeks ago. Here’s a look at the last four weeks of ratings for RAW:
- November 12th: 2.449
- November 19th: 2.493
- November 26th: 2.368
- December 3rd: 2.286
However, in another case of bad news/good news, Monday Night RAW was able to jump back up a spot in the Cable Top 150 Rankings for the 18-49 demographic, although they maintained their same share from last week. With the red brand also occupying the number six and seven spots, here is last night’s top five:
- Monday Night Football – ESPN – 3.62
- Monday Night Kickoff – ESPN – 1.46
- SportsCenter (12 AM) – ESPN – 1.21
- Monday Night RAW (9PM) – USA Network – 0.85
- Love & Hip Hop – VH1 – 0.84
EA’s Take: Well folks, more proof that the ratings mean absolutely ‘Dick Cheney’, for the most part. I’d like for anybody to just go look back at the Monday Night Football ratings for the past few weeks because they’re just as up-and-down as WWE’s. Granted, the numbers are bigger, but they’re increases and decreases all the same. Yet, for some reason the sky is only ever falling for the WWE, right? So while that very vocal minority who always wants to boycott or protest is always the loudest, just follow the 18-49 numbers. They’re consistent EVERY week. Ratings are not though and can be affected by so many other factors, especially today, that they aren’t a good gauge anymore. For some reason, all the curmudgeons still seem to use them as a point in their own narratives though, so keep doing you!

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
