Greg DeMarco’s Bold Predictions for WWE WrestleMania 38
It’s the most wonderful time of the (wrestling) year, and that means Greg DeMarco is here with your WWE WrestleMania 38 Bold Predictions!
It’s the most wonderful time of the (wrestling) year, and that means Greg DeMarco is here with your WWE WrestleMania 38 Bold Predictions!
You may not like them, but WWE is the king of the sports entertainment–and pro wrestling–world. WrestleMania is the jewel of the kingdom, setting the state for what’s to come. WWE business has never been stronger, which means the wrestling business in general has never been stronger. AEW… MLW… NJPW… Impact Wrestling… they’re all stronger thanks to the business of WWE.
But this isn’t about business, this is about pleasure! It’s BOLD Prediction time, and if you don’t know what that means, here you go…
- Bullheaded
- Outlandish
- Lascivious
- Deplorable
Seth Rollins’ Opponent Is….Everyone You Think
Seth Rollins’ road to WrestleMania has been one of the more intriguing stories told along the way. and now he’s been given his “main event” on the grandest stage. Who will his opponent be? Well, whoever Vince McMahon says, that’s who.
BUT, this is for BOLD Predictions, right? Here’s what will go down…
- We start with Ted Dibiase Jr, who disappoints the fans. But he lasts but a moment before eating The Stomp, and suffering the 1-2-3.
- Next we have Shane McMahon, who is another disappointment, but brings the fight to Seth Rollins in typical Shane McMahon fashion. This doesn’t end with The Stomp, but in a nod to Triple H, it ends with the Pedigree.
- But that isn’t enough for Vince, who FINALLY gives the people what they want: Cody Rhodes. Seth continues to put on a brilliant performance, but after a brutal fight with Shane McMahon, he finally succumbs to the Cross Rhodes, and loses.
This takes the fans for a ride, establishes Seth Rollins as the babyface he needs to be right now, and gives Cody Rhodes a big win in return–while still protecting Seth. At that point, their feud truly kicks off.
One Major Match Moves Nights
Two nights of WWE action that are packed to the gills, as we have musical performances, special segments, and more. Currently we have 7 matches on each night, but you still have the KO Show on Saturday that will be match-length at a minimum. We have seen matches move nights more than once, and I think one final move will be a major one.
I believe Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair will swap nights and end up on WrestleMania Sunday. I could even see the match opening the night, and being given plenty of time. WrestleMania Saturday has what basically amounts to 8 matches, and WrestleMania Sunday is likely to have a shorter finale in Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar.
In exchange, I see the 4-way WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match moving to Saturday–complete with a Bella Twins appearance on the stage to signify a future match with the winners.
Edge’s New Stable Debuts At WrestleMania Sunday
Edge and AJ Styles are doing their best Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle impersonation, being one of the most important non-championship matches in WWE history. The build has been amazing, and it’s included a total shift in character for Edge.
Rumors have surfaced that this shift ends in a new stable led by Edge himself, and I have to say it’s clouded my judgement–I LOVE IT. Normally that would be reserved for RawAfterMania, but there is no reason the AJ vs. Edge program needs to end on Sunday.
So we have Edge’s new stable debuting to help him win–in a story that ultimately ends inside Hell In A Cell for our two main combatants.
While we’re here, let’s take a look at the potential members:
- Damian Priest – He makes the most sense aesthetically, and at his age he really only has one major shot at WWE success.
- Roderick Strong – He’s done in NXT, there is nothing else for him to do. No big moment on the way out, no real acknowledgement of his leaving Diamond Mine (who doesn’t need him). Roddy gets his shot at the main roster as the underdog of the group.
- Mustafa Ali – Hey, these are BOLD Predictions. While I would prefer Mustafa be the leader, this is a long term plan. Edge won’t stick around forever, and won’t be a heel faction leader forever, either. An eventual feud with Edge will do wonders for Mustafa Ali.
Pat McAfee Is Being Made A Fool
Pat McAfee is a heel of a talent in and out of a wrestling ring. But it does seem a bit odd for Vince McMahon to randomly give him a match, no? Especially against Austin Theory, who Vince is obviously solidly behind?
While this is a great chance for Pat McAfee, this is truly the coming out party for Austin Theory, who has WrestleMania main eventer potential. But Theory can’t get there on his own, it’s going to take the continued backing of Vince McMahon.
I suspect we see Vince himself, and maybe Shane McMahon appear during this match. They will likely help Theory win after McAfee puts on another legendary performance.
How? McAfee Screwjob, that’s how. Pat McAfee is getting screwed, and we are on the road to United States Champion Austin Theory. And after that? Who knows!
RK-Bro Does NOT Lose.
RK-Bro is a pairing that Randy Orton may not have wanted at the start, but he loves it now. The team has done wonders for both man’s careers, but it obviously has to come to an end–especially for the growth and advancement of Matt Riddle.
And I do think they are breaking up, but not before the team gets their WrestleMania moment. RK Bro wins at WrestleMania…only to lose at RawAfterMania. THAT is where the team breaks up. I long assumed it would be Riddle who turns heel on Orton, but Riddle is crazy over as a babyface, and Orton can–and will–turn on a dime.
But that’s a different prediction. For this one, RK Bro is victorious at WWE WrestleMania 38.

Chris King: Is Brock Lesnar Truly Retired?
Brock Lesnar retired at WWE WrestleMania 42, right? Are we totally sure? Chris King asks…
Brock Lesnar retired at WWE WrestleMania 42, right? Are we totally sure? Chris King asks…
At WrestleMania 42, ‘The Beast Incarnate’ Brock Lesnar took off his boots and gloves following his loss to Oba Femi. Lesnar has done it all inside of his twenty-four-year career in professional wrestling. He’s a ten-time WWE Champion and former UFC Heavyweight Champion, and he’s one who ended The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania.
While Lesnar was in the ring, he was visibly overwhelmed with emotion and crying while he thanked the fans in his own way. The Beast even threw up an x to signal to Paul Heyman, his longtime friend and advocate, that this was not scripted and was real. There had been rumors that Lesnar and Oba were supposed to have a series of matches before everything went down at Mania.
‘The Career Killer’ Gunther was doing Heyman’s bidding as he faced Seth Rollins for a favor. For a while now since Gunther retired Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles, the rumor has been Gunther was set to retire Lesnar in his hometown at this year’s SummerSlam event. There’s been no confirmation if Lesnar is truly retired, but on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, we saw Heyman talking with General Manager Nick Aldis. Later that night following Rhodes’ match against the debuting Ricky Saints, Gunther choked out the WWE Champion. Could this be the favor from Heyman?
I know in the world of professional wrestling we live by the mantra of “never say never,” but what if Lesnar is actually retired and this was WWE’s way of shutting down those rumors about Gunther and Lesnar? What if Gunther’s next program is chasing after the WWE title, and where is Randy Orton at in all of these plans? There are so many questions that need to be answered, hopefully soon!

Chris King: Defend The Intercontinental Championship At Backlash!
With WWE Backlash upon us, Chris King wants to see Penta defend the Intercontinental Championship in Tampa!
With WWE Backlash upon us, Chris King wants to see Penta defend the Intercontinental Championship in Tampa!
This year’s annual Backlash showcase is only a few days away, and while there are many big matches announced, one that definitely should be isn’t on the card. In my opinion, outside of Roman Reigns/Jacob Fatu and Seth Rollins/Bron Breakker, the Intercontinental Championship scene has been stellar over the last month.
Penta has been an excellent champion, especially after his triumphant title defense in a ladder match against JeVon Evans, Rusev, Dragon Lee, and the Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 42. Their ladder match at Mania was one of the best that WWE has produced in a while.
The momentum never stopped, as on the post-Mania episode of Monday Night Raw, ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page made his debut and was quickly inserted into the Intercontinental title scene. Page had a fantastic showing against his longtime NXT rival Evans and picked up a big win in his debut match thanks to an assist from Rusev.
All Ego immediately joined forces with ‘The Bulgarian Brute’ Rusev, who was also vying for the Intercontinental Title in his own right. On this week’s episode of Raw, Page and Rusev defeated Evans and Penta. All Ego pinned the champion, making a huge statement and putting him one step closer to getting a title shot. For the past few weeks I’ve been anxiously waiting to see if WWE was going to add this incredible fatal four-way match for the Intercontinental Championship, but it hasn’t happened yet.
As much as the WWE Universe enjoys witnessing great matches on free television, I truly believe all four superstars deserve the chance to showcase their talents on the PLE. While Penta has done a terrific job as the intercontinental champion, it’s time for a fresh face to hold the prestigious title. Page would make a great braggadocious heel that would help elevate the Intercontinental Championship to new heights!
