Mayu Iwatani Vacates GHC Women’s Championship After Fractured Toe
Mayu Iwatani announced at Korakuen Hall that she is vacating Pro Wrestling NOAH’s GHC Women’s Championship after fracturing her big toe in two places last month and will be unable to return in time for Wrestle Magic on June 15. A new champion will be crowned at Wrestle Magic, with participants to be announced; Iwatani left the belt in the ring and apologized to fans before departing.
Iwatani, formerly a top star in Stardom and now aligned with Marigold (where she still holds the Marigold Supefly Championship), said she plans to come back and pursue the GHC title again; her reign lasted 135 days. The GHC Women’s Championship, introduced in 2024, has been held by Kouki Amarei, Takumi Iroha and Iwatani, and NOAH’s June 15 Wrestle Magic will be headlined by a six-man tag featuring Kaito Kiyamiya, Titus Alexander and Archie Cole against a team representing NJPW, DDT and Dragon Gate.

MLW Adds Stardom Stars Saya Kamitani and RINA to June NYC/Philly Cards
Major League Wrestling and Japan’s Stardom will kick off their new strategic partnership next month as Stardom standouts Saya Kamitani and RINA are set to debut for MLW at the Melrose Ballroom in New York City on Thursday, June 11, before appearing on the promotion’s Philadelphia events on June 12–13. Match details are still TBA; both wrestlers are members of Stardom’s H.A.T.E. faction, with Kamitani a former World of Stardom Champion and Tokyo Sports MVP as well as a former NJPW Strong Women’s Champion.
The collaboration is being billed as a talent-exchange and creative partnership that aligns with Stardom’s international expansion strategy of working with existing promotions, rather than mounting standalone overseas shows. MLW, which has several prominent women’s names on its roster such as Shotzi Blackheart, Lady Frost and Scarlett Bordeaux, is also ramping up TV production as it prepares to relaunch Fusion, with these NYC/Philly dates serving as part of ongoing tapings.
